The Conlett Neo-Guard Plus is the enhanced-protection variant of the Neo-Guard neonatal nasal CPAP seal — designed for premature and newborn infants who need additional septum safeguarding during CPAP therapy. Combining a foam cushion layer with silicone dressing technology on a skin-friendly silicone adhesive base, it provides a further level of defence against the pressure, trauma, and irritation that nasal prongs can cause on the most sensitive neonatal skin. CE marked under EU MDR 2017/745. Available in two sizes to cover the full weight range from premature infants to term neonates.

Who Is This For?

The Neo-Guard Plus is indicated for neonates and premature infants receiving nasal CPAP therapy where additional septum protection is required — particularly infants with heightened skin fragility, prolonged CPAP exposure, or where standard nasal seals have shown evidence of septum pressure or irritation. Select the S-M size for infants under 2000g and the M-L size for infants over 2000g. Discontinue use if the patient is allergic to any component of the product. Not recommended for use on open or deep cavity wounds. Use with caution on patients with very thin or fragile skin.

Application

1. Use according to the treating physician's instructions.
2. Use the nasal prong manufacturer's size guide to select the correct prong size. The prongs should be one size larger than the Neo-Guard Plus, so the star cut grips them securely.
3. Thread the selected prongs through the Neo-Guard Plus holes, ensuring the prongs extend through and are visible on the adhesive side.
4. Remove the protective covering sheet once prongs are in place.
5. Attach the prongs to the CPAP generator before applying to the infant.
6. Bring the generator towards the nose and gently insert the prongs.
7. Press the Neo-Guard Plus gently into position. Prongs should sit square onto the nose and angled correctly.
8. Ensure the skin is clean, dry, and free from oils, soaps, lotions, or skin preparation residues before application.
9. Provide ongoing observation and care in accordance with hospital protocol.
