Choosing the Right F&P Consumables
Start with the humidifier. Chambers and heated circuits are designed for a specific F&P base unit. An MR850 circuit, a my820 circuit and a myAirvo breathing tube are not interchangeable, so check the model on the device label before ordering.
Upgrading from myAirvo 2 to myAirvo 3. F&P states that myAirvo 3 is compatible with existing myAirvo consumables, so stocks of tubing, chambers and interfaces can carry over. The air filter and the optional integrated battery are myAirvo 3-specific. The battery is designed to keep therapy running through power outages.
Choosing an interface for high flow. On myAirvo 2, F&P specifies a default adult flow range of 10 to 60 L/min and a Junior mode of 2 to 25 L/min, with Optiflow nasal cannulas in multiple sizes. Patients with a tracheostomy use the tracheostomy direct interface, and the mask interface adapter connects a mask to the high flow circuit.
Fisher & Paykel Healthcare FAQ
Is Fisher & Paykel Healthcare the same company as Fisher & Paykel appliances?
No. The two businesses separated in 2001. Fisher & Paykel Healthcare, headquartered in Auckland, New Zealand, makes respiratory humidification, high flow, neonatal and sleep apnoea products. The appliance brand is a separate company.
What is humidified high flow therapy?
Humidified high flow therapy delivers warmed, humidified air, with supplemental oxygen if prescribed, at high flow rates through a nasal cannula or tracheostomy interface to a patient who is breathing on their own. F&P's myAirvo systems deliver it in the home and in long-term care.
What is the difference between myAirvo 2 and myAirvo 3?
myAirvo 3 adds a touch screen, an optional integrated battery for power outages, remote patient monitoring through F&P InfoSmart Web, and support for an optional pulse oximeter. F&P states it is compatible with existing myAirvo consumables.
