Sharps containers

Sharps containers (sharps bins) hold used needles, syringes, lancets and blades until they can be disposed of safely. They suit home injections, clinics, community nursing and aged care.

Our range includes the BD 1.4 litre sharps container. It is a compact size for home use or for a treatment room or trolley.

Using a sharps container

  • Put sharps in straight after use. Don't recap, bend or break needles first.
  • Keep the container upright, within reach where sharps are used, and out of reach of children.
  • Close the lid fully once contents reach the fill line, and don't overfill.
  • Never put a sharps container in household recycling.
Disposal rules vary between states and councils. Many councils, pharmacies and hospitals accept full sharps containers. Check with your local council for drop-off points near you.
