Nellcor Pulse Oximeters

The Nellcor PM100N is a bedside SpO2 patient monitoring system with a colour display, plethysmographic waveform, 96 hours of trend memory, an 8-hour lithium-ion battery (16-hour optional) and SatSeconds alarm management. SatSeconds weighs both the depth and the duration of a desaturation, which helps separate clinically significant events from brief dips. It has standard, homecare and sleep study modes. The Nellcor PM10N is a 274 g handheld oximeter for spot checks or continuous monitoring. It runs for about 20 hours on four AA lithium batteries and stores up to 80 hours of data. Both are available as kits with a reusable sensor or a pack of adhesive sensors.

Reusable Nellcor Sensors and Accessories

For repeated spot checks across many patients, MEC stocks reusable Nellcor sensors:

The Oxiband and Dura-Y sensors attach with disposable adhesive wraps or foam wraps, so the sensor is reused while the wrap is replaced. Extension cables come in 1.22 m, 2.44 m and 3.05 m lengths.

Sensor compatibility: Medtronic states the PM10N works with Nellcor single-patient-use, reusable and specialty sensors that use OxiMax technology. Adhesive OxiMax sensors are labelled single-patient use and should not be moved between patients.
Important — Clinical use: Medtronic states the Nellcor bedside monitoring system is an adjunct to patient assessment and should not be used as the sole basis for diagnosis or therapy.

Nellcor FAQ

Who makes Nellcor pulse oximeters?

Nellcor is a Medtronic brand, formerly part of Covidien. That is why many Nellcor products and searches still carry the Covidien name.

Which Nellcor sensor do I need for an infant?

Medtronic labels the OxiMax MAX-I-I adhesive sensor for infants from 3 to 20 kg. For neonates under 3 kg, use the MAX-N-I, or the non-adhesive SoftCare Neonatal (1.5–5 kg) or SoftCare Preterm (under 1.5 kg) for fragile skin.

What is the difference between the PM100N and PM10N?

The PM100N is a bedside monitor with a colour display, 96-hour trend memory, a rechargeable battery and SatSeconds alarm management. The PM10N is a 274 g handheld unit that runs on AA batteries, suited to spot checks, transport and mobile use.
